Congratulations to PhD students Dawn Ryan and Tiago Guardia de Souza e Silva on successfully passing their comprehensive exams!
Despite the pandemic, the Campbell Lab had a number of things worth celebrating this summer, including two successful MA thesis defenses, two comprehensive exams, and one new lab member. It was also nice to hang out in person after almost 6 months apart!
Dr. Campbell was one of only four scholars (of 4300 members) to receive an Early Career Award from the Psychonomic Society. She plans to use her award to help others discover the possibilities of studying science by donating half of the financial portion of her Early Career Award to Actua Canada, a charity that does youth outreach to increase diversity in STEM.
Full story in the Brock News. Congratulations to Emily Davis, who not only successfully defended her MA thesis on June 16th, but was recently awarded an Alexander Graham Bell Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council. This scholarship will fund her research on “The neural mechanisms underlying hyper-binding in aging.” Way to go Emily! Full story in the Brock News.
